Story Summary:
Khondiao begins to question his relationship with Hia Yi. Uncertain and
emotionally conflicted, he secretly makes plans to leave for Switzerland,
unaware that Hia Yi would find out and follow him to stop him from going.
While chasing after Khondiao, Hia Yi gets into an accident
and is admitted to the hospital. Kuea, who was on a call with Hia Yi at the
time, informs Khondiao about the incident. Upon hearing the news, Khondiao
rushes back from the airport, heartbroken and terrified.
When Hia Yi regains consciousness, he claims to have
forgotten who Khondiao is. After a short recovery in the hospital, Yi actually
regains his memory—but chooses to pretend otherwise. With the help of Lian and
Aon, he decides to fake his amnesia, hoping to understand why Khondiao wanted
to leave and to stop him from doing so.
Using his “memory loss” as an excuse, Hia Yi begins trying
to rebuild their relationship from scratch, hoping Khondiao will open up to him
again. Meanwhile, Khondiao’s family, upon learning of Yi’s condition, attempts
to take advantage of the situation to gain money from Yi’s company and improve
their own financial status.
A few days later, Khondiao discovers that Yi has been faking
his memory loss and confronts him. Yi explains everything, revealing that the
car he used during the accident was actually Khondiao’s. If Khondiao had been
the one driving that day, he would have died in the crash—something Yi couldn’t
bear.
Shaken, Khondiao begins having nightmares and eventually
opens up about his childhood trauma. In a deeply emotional moment, Yi confesses
that he was the cause of Khondiao’s trauma and memory loss as a child—something
that has haunted him ever since.
Fearing that Khondiao’s family might exploit the marriage
for financial gain, the two of them agree to discreetly disrupt their wedding
plans to protect the Chen family. Meanwhile, Aon investigates the accident and
uncovers that it was orchestrated by Khondiao’s uncle, stepmother, and her
children. Khondiao then confronts his father for abandoning him and leaving him
in Yi’s family’s care all those years ago.
On their wedding day, Khondiao enacts a plan—devised with
Kuea and their friends—to escape before the ceremony. He nearly succeeds, but
Yi anticipates his move and uses Nong, Khondiao’s beloved puppy, to stop him.
When Khondiao finally stops running, Yi seizes the moment
and proposes to him again—this time not as a way to trap him, but to truly
choose each other.
Years later, they adopt a daughter and have a child through
surrogacy, continuing the Chen family legacy with love and healing at its core.
