Story Summary:
Tong and his best friend, Tonkla, leave their orphanage to start a new life in
Bangkok and pursue their education. While working a part-time job, Tong meets
the mysterious and dangerous Mark—a man who seems to have known him for a long
time. One day, when Tong is injured and bleeds, Mark’s true identity is
revealed: he is a vampire. Tong’s blood, known as “golden blood,” is a deadly
temptation for vampires. Unbeknownst to Tong, the people around him had always
told him he had hemophilia and must never bleed, hiding the true reason for
their fear.
Mark, losing control, licks a drop of Tong’s blood. Later,
he explains that vampires have secretly lived among humans for centuries.
Frightened, Tong flees and attempts to report Mark to the police, only to find
himself in even greater trouble.
After tasting Tong’s golden blood and spending time with
him, Mark begins to change—developing a sense of smell, a taste for human food,
and even empathy—feelings he hadn’t experienced since becoming a vampire.
When Tong and Tonkla visit their old orphanage, Tong
discovers that the matron had always known about his golden blood. That was why
she never allowed him to play with other children—for fear of a vampire attack.
After the visit, Mark allows Tong to stay with Tonkla.
Tong is surprised to find that Mark has enrolled at his
university. Struggling to make friends after joining late, Tong leans on Mark
for companionship. However, when he discovers that Mark has been invading
Tonkla’s privacy, he becomes furious. Mark, in response, tries to keep his
distance, both to understand his own feelings and to suppress his growing
desire for Tong.
Soon, a new threat appears in the form of Nakan, a vampire
searching for the person with golden blood—intent on killing him. To protect
Tong, Mark becomes more distant, hoping to prevent Nakan from discovering the
truth.
Despite the distance, Mark and Tong grow closer. Mark
struggles with his desire for Tong’s blood and his deepening feelings for him.
Eventually, Nakan discovers Tong’s secret and attempts to hypnotize him and
steal his blood, hoping to grow stronger and overthrow Thara, the reigning
vampire queen.
As their bond strengthens, Thara learns of Tong’s rare blood
and believes it could be the key to saving vampirekind. Tong offers his blood
in exchange for their protection—not just for himself but for Mark as well.
However, Mark refuses the offer.
Thara warns Tong that after his 21st birthday, his blood
will lose its power, and he will no longer need Mark’s protection—something
that could change their relationship forever. Tong begins to question whether
their love can survive the challenges of loving an immortal vampire.
While protecting Tong from Nakan, Tonkla is killed. Tong is
left grieving, and Mark remains by his side for comfort and protection. Haunted
by Thara’s words, Tong begins to distance himself from Mark.
Nakan is eventually captured and reveals that his intention
in overthrowing Thara was to prevent future golden-blooded individuals from
dying on their 21st birthday. He exposes Thara’s many crimes and lies.
With her secrets revealed, Thara plots to take Tong’s blood
by force. Mark, now aware of the truth, joins forces with Nakan to protect
Tong. Nakan tells Mark that the only way to stop Thara is to kill Tong, but
Mark refuses to harm the one person who has given his 200-year life meaning.
They attempt to flee, but when Thara corners them and nearly
kills Mark and Nakan, Tong surrenders himself, begging her to spare them.
Mark and Nakan enlist the help of Wan to rescue Tong. During
the battle, Wan is killed.
Having overheard Nakan’s earlier warning, Tong knows the
only way to end the conflict is through sacrifice. He convinces Mark to drink
his blood, assuring him that a part of him will always live on within Mark.
With no other choice, Mark drinks Tong’s blood, leading to Tong’s death.
Together, Mark and Nakan defeat Thara, though Nakan dies in
the process.
As Mark kisses Tong one final time, the golden blood awakens a new power within him—one that revives Tong for a brief moment. In that fleeting time, Tong tells Mark that he would be anything, so long as he could live with him. Moved by Tong’s words, Mark turns him into a vampire, so they can be together forever.
