Story Summary:
Doctor Wandee had always admired Doctor Ter from afar. It was more than
admiration—it was longing, built quietly over the years. He had done everything
he could to stay close to Ter, hoping his feelings would be returned. But when
he finally confessed, Ter rejected him.
Wandee tried to accept it. He told himself that heartbreak
was a part of life. But what truly tormented him wasn’t the rejection—it was
the reason. Ter didn’t love him, not even a little. That truth clung to Wandee
like a shadow.
Consumed by loneliness, Wandee resolved to forget Ter by
seeking a fleeting connection—anyone who caught his eye. Then, like fate
teasing him, he saw Yoryak—a rugged, quiet boxer—shopping at a local
store. Wandee was instantly drawn to him. On impulse, he approached and asked
if Yoryak would spend the night with him.
Yoryak turned him down, politely but firmly.
The next day, Yoryak came to the hospital with a shoulder
injury. The universe, it seemed, had a twisted sense of humor—Doctor Wandee was
assigned to treat him. Though still stung by the rejection, Wandee performed
his duties with clinical precision and cold professionalism.
What Wandee didn’t know was that Yoryak hadn’t rejected him
because of disgust or discomfort. He had feelings for someone else—a girl he’d
long admired. When Wandee overheard this, something shifted inside him. It
hadn’t been personal. The rejection hadn’t been about him. For the first time
in weeks, he could breathe.
After the appointment, Yoryak—perhaps sensing Wandee’s
kindness behind the cold exterior—asked for help with his studies and his
injured shoulder.
Wandee agreed, almost too quickly. He told himself it was
professional courtesy. Nothing more.
But time had other plans.
Late-night study sessions, quiet meals, casual touches while
checking his healing shoulder—it all added up. Wandee found himself smiling
more. Laughing again. Feeling something he thought he’d buried.
He was falling for Yoryak.
But Yoryak’s heart still belonged to someone else. Or so
Wandee thought.
One fine day, Yoryak had confessed that he loved Wandee and
not the girl.
Wandee's breath caught.
For once, he wasn't chasing love. It had found its way to him.
