Story Summary:
Kuea and Lian have been engaged since childhood, bound by a promise made to Kuea’s grandfather. They agreed to marry once Kuea graduated from university.
Kuea is a talented singer and drummer who performs under the stage name Kirin at a club called Gemini. He is also pursuing a degree in Automotive Engineering. However, to maintain the image of an ideal fiancé, he hides this side of himself from Lian and others—claiming instead that he is studying Computer Engineering. In front of Lian, Kuea behaves like a polite, well-mannered gentleman, suppressing his true passions to gain his approval.
One day, after their date is cancelled due to work, a frustrated and heartbroken Kuea confronts Lian, asking if he had ever truly loved him. Lian coldly replies that marrying Kuea is a duty—a promise he made to Kuea’s grandfather—and admits he has never loved him. Devastated, Kuea suggests breaking off the engagement and returns to his secret house, a place decorated to reflect his true tastes, unlike the rigid Keerati mansion.
After the breakup, Kuea decides to embrace his true identity. He publicly reveals himself as Kirin and begins living life on his own terms. Unbeknownst to Kuea, Lian already knows about his double life and has been quietly protecting his secret from Kuea’s mother.
The night Kuea reveals himself as Kirin, he feels a deep sense of relief and gets a bit drunk. When someone approaches him at the club, Lian—who attends every one of Kuea’s performances—steps in to protect him and takes him home. In his drunken state, Kuea mistakes Lian for a look-alike and asks to be taken to his secret house instead of the Keerati mansion.
On the way, Kuea questions why Lian has never liked him, even pleading that he could have at least pretended. Moved by Kuea’s pain, Lian kisses him.
The next morning, Kuea wakes up in his secret house, vaguely remembering someone who looked like Lian but unsure of what truly happened. He calls his friend Khondiao, hoping to fill in the blanks, but Diao had left earlier and knows nothing. Unable to confront Lian, Kuea stays silent and returns to the mansion.
The following day, Lian is waiting for him and tells Kuea that he wants them to live together in his house. When Kuea asks whether his mother has agreed, Lian reveals that he already spoke to her and got her approval. With no reason to refuse, Kuea reluctantly agrees and asks for a few days to pack. Lian accepts and returns for him when the time comes.
Suspicious of Lian's intentions, Kuea becomes determined to uncover his true motives. He informs Jay, the owner of Gemini, that he’ll be taking a break from performing. Lian, meanwhile, approaches Jay and becomes a business partner in the club. Learning that Kuea has stopped performing, he conspires with Jay to lure Kuea back to the stage—successfully convincing him to perform again.
One morning, Kuea offers to help with cooking, but when he mishandles a knife, Lian scolds him sharply. Hurt, Kuea bursts into tears, asking if Lian has always seen him as a burden. Lian gently denies this, assuring him that it's never been the case.
Wanting to show how much he truly cares, Lian plans a date—taking Kuea to a racetrack, a supermarket, and finally to Pentagon, Lian’s own club, to meet his friends.
During a visit to Lian's home, Kuea accidentally discovers that the property deeds of the Keerati family have been transferred to Lian. Alarmed, he calls his mother to ask if their family is going bankrupt. She reassures him that everything is fine and the transfer was for protection. Kuea confronts Lian, who explains that one of the Keerati businesses was struggling, and transferring the deeds was a safeguard to prevent total loss.
At Lian’s father’s 60th birthday celebration, Lian proposes to Kuea. However, Kuea rejects him, believing Lian is still in love with the version of him he pretended to be.
Lian follows Kuea to his secret house and explains that he has always known who Kuea really is—and that he has always loved that version of him. The dates, the kindness, the integration into his world were all meant to help Kuea slowly open up and be himself.
Realizing the depth of Lian’s feelings, Kuea decides to propose in return. He enlists the help of his friends, but every time he tries, Lian manages to thwart the attempts—wanting to be the one to propose first. Eventually, Kuea sings a heartfelt song to propose to Lian, who finally accepts.
